Third International Symposium on Infrastructure Engineering in Developing Countries to be held in Karachi, July 2010

In July 2010, the NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan, and the University of Mississippi, USA, will hold the Third International Symposium of Infrastructure Engineering in Developing Countries (IEDC 2010), in Karachi.

The aim of the symposium is to increase understanding of, and mitigate for, urban infrastructure planning management issues in developing countries.  It is intended that the symposium facilitates the sharing of ideas, the transfer of technologies and development of linkages between the transportation industries of developed and developing countries.

The 2010 symposium is entitled, 'The International Conference on Sustainable Transportation and Traffic Management' and will highlight transportation and traffic management practices from around the world. 

The event is part of a USAID Higher Education Commission of Pakistan funded project entitled "The Development of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) based Traffic Management Model for Metropolitan Areas of Pakistan". The project is being jointly conducted by NED University of Engineering and Technology (NEDUET), Karachi and the Center for Advanced Infrastructure Technology (CAIT) at the University of Mississippi, USA.
