Jeff Turner
Jeff Turner trained as an economist and has over 15 years
experience of undertaking social research in infrastructure sectors in
developing and developed countries. This experience has focused mostly
on the development of gender equality into transport and infrastructure
policy and practice.
This work has focused on micro-level analysis of gendered
patterns of productive and reproductive activity, gendered access to household
resources, gendered coping mechanisms of low-income households and their
impact on mobility and infrastructure. This work has also explored developing
strategies for women's participation in decision-making and institutional
factors related to mainstreaming gender in infrastructure projects. He
also significant experience in developing strategies for community participation
in infrastructure projects. He has published his work in a wide range
of publications from books and academic journals to practitioner guides
and community newsletters and has also presented to a variety of audiences,
from policy-makers and transport practitioners to low-income communities.
